What to look for in a BJJ Soap
There are three main characteristics, soap for BJJ practitioners should have:

Ingredients.
Essential oils like tea tree and eucalyptus oils are known to have antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties. However, these ingredients come in a variety of grades ranging from technical to cosmetic to pharmaceutical.
Here’s the difference:
- Pharmaceutical Grade: 3% or less Cineole; 37% or more Terpinen-4-ol
- Cosmetic Grade: 5% or less Cineole; 35% or more Terpinen-4-ol
- Technical Grade: 10% or less Cineole; 30% or more
Terpinen-4-ol is the active compound that provides most of the antimicrobial properties. Cineole can cause dryness that’s why the lower the number, the better. Defense Soap is unadulterated with unnecessary ingredients. We don’t add any fragrance or cosmetic ingredients in our soaps, so we have the room to add the full concentration of the essential infection-fighting ingredients.
Quality manufacturing
