According to the FDA Defense Soap Cannot Claim to be an Antibacterial Soap

According to the FDA, Defense Soap cannot claim to be an antibacterial. Nothing could please us more.
Here's why:

For us to be able to make infection-fighting claims, Defense Soap would need approval as an over the counter drug. To make that happen our formula would have to change to include chemicals like Triclosan and Triclocarban, both proven to be cancer-causing chemicals. The FDA also does not allow companies to claim that natural essential oils such as Tea Tree Oil or Eucalyptus Oil can prevent, treat or mitigate skin disease or infections because they say there are not enough studies. Defense Soap must and will abide by these rules for the greater good. However, we recommend that you be the judge and do your research before making any decisions regarding your health or the health of young athletes.
