We at Defense Soap were extremely excited and proud to hear the announcement come from Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland on April 2nd that our partnership with United World Wrestling had been made official. This partnership comes in the form of a two-year global supplier agreement. Babak Shadgan, chair of United World Wrestling’s medical commission, said, “injuries and cuts are part of the sport and the partnership with Defense Soap is another step in the right direction to protecting athletes from infection and educating them. We are looking forward to working with Defense Soap and developing a hygiene protocol for wrestlers worldwide.”

This is the biggest partnership in our company’s history here at Defense Soap. Our mission has always been to educate wrestlers, coaches, and parents on the best practices for hygiene and skin health and to also provide products that helps wrestlers prevent and treat skin infections that have plagued our sport for years. The partnership with United World Wrestling provides us with the biggest platform the sport has to offer globally. UWW is the international governing body for the sport of amateur wrestling and oversees wrestling at the Olympics as well as the World Championships for freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling for men and women. The National Wrestling Coaches Association has been invaluable in connecting us with the wrestling community in the U.S. In much the same way, United World Wrestling will connect us with these communities on a global scale.

Moving forward, we will be working hand-in-hand with medical professionals from the organization to develop a hygiene protocol for the entire world. This is a daunting task but we welcome the challenge and opportunity we have been given to leave a lasting impact on the sport.
